Stories and memories of the Dee-Tee's
Sometime in the dark ages of 1964 to 1966, a group of lads on HMS
Eagle formed a band called The Dee-Tee's (no reference at all, of
course, to the problem brought on by excessive drinking). Amongst
them our very own Texas (Teevan) Scott who was the Rhythm Guitarist.
The band was formed by a group of enthusiastic musicians who had
dreams of hitting the big time. The Dee-Tee's were known for their
energetic performances and catchy tunes, which quickly made them a
hit among the crew. They played a mix of rock and roll, heavy metal,
and original compositions. The band members included Walter
(Brad)Bradbury, Vocals, Peter Crane, Lead Guitar, Tex Scott, Rhythm
Guitar, Peter Crowley, Bass Guitar and Antony Greenwooon drums. The
Dee-Tee's wrote, produced and performed their own song included as
one of the songs on the album and the album is named after the song,
JUST BECAUSE.
Gigs were held ashore in Hong Kong and other countries.
I am awaiting information about the Dee-Tee's from Tex and Chad
Ellis who at one time managed the group. In the meantime, I have
included some photos of the band and their record. If you have any
stories or memories about The Dee-Tee's, please share them with us!
